Angelina Jolie may take on role of Patrizia Reggiani

Jolie in talks to join Ridley Scott’s new film as Patrizia Reggiani, who was jailed for 29 years for her part in the killing of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.

The film certainly has all the ingredients for a classic tale of intrigue, hubris and family infighting: the Gucci name has often been synonymous with fiery behaviour alongside enormous wealth. In one infamous incident during the early 80s, a family member is said to have been knocked unconscious with an answering machine during a boardroom spat. Maurizio’s cousin, Paolo Gucci, reported his own father, Aldo, then head of the company, for tax evasion.

The latter was sentenced to a year and a day behind bars in Florida in 1986 for conspiring to evade more than $7.4m (£4.4m) in US income taxes

The fortunes of the fashion house were on the verge of a glorious revival under designer Tom Ford when Maurizio was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment.
